چکیده

Compound behavior such as adsorption with soil and mobility in rice plants of 2-tertbutylimino-3-isopropyl-5-phenyl-3, 4, 5, 6-tetrahydro-2H-1, 3, 5-thiadiazin-4-one (buprof ezin) and 3'-isopropoxy-2-(trifluoromethyl)benzanilide(flutolanil) were determined and compared with results reported previously for a set of fungicidal compounds. Highly hydrophobic buprofezin was strongly adsorbed with the soil and was hardly mobile in rice plants. Flutolanil, which was not highly hydrophobic, was not strongly adsorbed with the soil and considerably mobile in the plants. These types of behavior may be contributing characteristics in their effectiveness as pesticides. Relationship between behavior and hydrophobicity (log P) of the fungicides were found to be extendible to structurally unrelated compounds such as buprof ezin and flutolanil. This in turn means that compound behavior can be generally predictable from a measure of the hydrophobicity, log P-

Assessing Relation of Soil Hydrophobicity and Soil Water Content and Determining Threshold Moisture of Organic Soil Samples

Soil water content is the most effective factor associated with the hydrophobic and hydrophilic changes in a soil. Water repellency in soils, is not a permanent feature; it can be reached in the dry season and reduced or eliminated in the wet season It can be said that in terms of moisture, there is a critical region that is defined as the threshold moisture content, where in lower moisture, th...

Chemical Stabilization of Some Heavy Metals in an Artificially Multi-Elements Contaminated Soil, Using Rice Husk Biochar and Coal Fly Ash

A greenhouse experiment has been planned for this study to delineate the benefits of two types of rice husk biochars (namely B300 and B600 which are prepared at 300°C and 600°C, respectvely) and coal fly ash (CFA), as soil amendments, for decreasing the amount of some heavy metals (like Pb, Cd, Ni, Cr, and Cu) as well as mobility and phytoavailability in an artificially-calcareous multi-element...
